about BTI Consulting Service Founder

Dr. Benjamin T. Iobst

Dr. Benjamin T. Iobst is an organizational psychology consultant, U.S. Army combat veteran, and retired full-time law enforcement officer. He provides evidence-based consulting, training, and program development for public safety, healthcare, government, and behavioral health organizations, specializing in crisis response, de-escalation, organizational performance, and professional wellness.

Dr. Iobst holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a Masters in Criminal Justice, and brings extensive experience from roles in law enforcement, crisis negotiation, investigations, crisis intervention, and specialty command assignments also receiving numerous specialty trainings and certifications. During his law enforcement career, he received numerous commendations for lifesaving actions, exemplary service, and professional performance. He co-founded a regional peer wellness initiative serving more than 30 first responder agencies and continues to support police and emergency services through advanced training and professional development.

A combat-decorated U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Iobst previously served multiple combat tours during the Global War on Terror as an Infantryman, Sniper Team Leader, and Non-Commissioned Officer, earning the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal for Valor, and the Presidential Unit Citation.


He is an Adjunct Professor at several colleges and the creator of both the TACTOLVE™ Professional Safety & De-Escalation Training System and the Healthy Leader, Healthy Organization leadership and organizational health training. These programs translate psychological science into practical, applied frameworks that support safer operations, effective communication, sound decision-making, and sustainable performance in high-responsibility environments.


Restoring the Warrior is Dr. Iobst’s book on post-traumatic growth, resilience, and recovery for veterans and first responders, integrating psychological research with lived experience to provide a practical framework for healing and long-term wellbeing. The Tribe of the Restored Warrior Podcast extends this work through conversations with veterans, first responders, clinicians, and leaders, focusing on growth, purpose, and sustainable recovery beyond trauma.
